Do you want to buy a house on the Costa Blanca? Do you dream of sea views? A cocktail with your feet in the sand? Good idea, because the Costa Blanca has nice places. But, where should you be and what suits you best? We would like to tell you what the best places are on the Costa Blanca and just a little further inland. We ourselves live just a little further inland. This is cheaper and has many advantages for us.
The Costa Blanca, located on the coast of Alicante in the Comunidad Valenciana, is a true gem. One of Spain’s 17 autonomous regions, this region offers much more than just a “white coast. The name was popularized in the 1950s and 1960s when the region began to develop as a tourist destination. The white buildings in many of the villages and towns along the coastline also contribute to this name, as does the abundance of almond trees that bloom in the spring and create a white carpet of flowers. Here you will discover picturesque villages, beautiful harbors and lush nature, perfect for adventurous cyclists and hikers. This paradise has everything for an unforgettable experience.

We provide a preview of the places that appeal to us most. This will give you an idea.
Denia
We begin with Denia. A charming and slightly more international town. You will find here the imposing Montgo mountain. Perfect for hiking and biking. You have beautiful sandy beaches here, as well as cute little streets and the cutest stores. What we really like is the pier at the harbor. Here you have many nice restaurants. On one side you look at the sea on the other side on the harbor. From here the ferries leave for the Balearic Islands. You can be in Ibiza within two hours. Mallorca takes a little longer, but you can go there too. Denia actually has everything. City, beach and nature. But beware. Denia is huge. If you start looking for a house, it could be as little as 25 minutes away by car.
Between Pedreguer and Denia you still have the district of La Sella. Here you will find the also the golf course. A special piece. Cool views and basically everything in terms of sports and leisure at hand.

Jávea
Jávea/Xabia, they call it the new Ibiza. It’s big. We are there from Pedreguer with 5 minutes, but can also drive half an hour. It is divided into three parts: the historic center, the port and the touristy Playa Arenal. We find the sandy beaches of Playa Arenal a bit reminiscent of those nightlife resorts and jokingly call it Scheveningen. It really is a boulevard, garish restaurants and stores and plenty of entertainment. At the same time, it has cozy terraces and sunbeds. The old city center is beautiful. White houses, winding streets and authentic town houses. I am in love. You can also eat delicious food here and find wonderful stores. At the port you also have beaches and nice restaurants.
Jávea/Xabia is breaking out. You have super beautiful coves and viewpoints such as Cabo de la Nao and Cabo San Antonio, Portixol and the beach of Granadella has even been voted twice as the most beautiful beach in Spain.

Moraira
Moraira has beautiful villa neighborhoods. El Portet is the most popular part. Here are beautiful villas. In the bay you can anchor or tie yourself to a buoy. There is even a boat coming by to provide you with a nice cocktail. The center is not big. You will find some nice stores and fine restaurants. Along the coast you will find many little beaches and good restaurants.

Benitatchell
Benitachell is a small Spanish town on the northern Costa Blanca in Spain, located between Moraira and Jávea. Although the village is inland, the municipality of Benitachell extends over 2 km of coastline on the Mediterranean Sea. Along this coastline, cliffs rise as high as 100 meters above sea level in some places, an impressive sight for visitors passing by. This rugged coast is particularly popular with diving enthusiasts because of its attractive caves and interesting underwater sites.
Benitachell is home to several attractive urbanizations, such as La Cumbre del Sol along the coast, with the beautiful beach of Cala Moraig and popular beach bars.

Benissa
An authentic, small and charming village. The old center has historic buildings. In the middle of the village is the church. You will find cozy stores. In the surroundings of Benissa you have breathtaking landscapes. It ranges from sea views, vineyards to mountains.
Calpe
In Calpe you have sandy beaches. Most people know Calpe from the Rock of Calpe. This is the iconic limestone rock formation, the Peñón de Ifach, rising from the sea. Here you have some more high-rise buildings. But it also has a promenade and beach on two sides. You’ll find good restaurants and nice stores here.
It is also a great destination for hikers, there are beautiful hiking trails that lead to the top of the Peñón de Ifach. Here you have fantastic panoramic views. In winter professional cycling groups often settle here. Funny we ran into André Hazes here twice.
Altea
Our adventure together began in Altea. In Altea La Vella at the golf course. Altea is known for its white houses and narrow winding streets. The new streets are dead straight and there are nice stores there. The old part Casco Antigue has boutiques, cafes and art galleries. Funny, we ate in Altea at Christmas. We slid into wine bar Shiraz. Turned out the owner was from Utrecht. Previously he owned our favorite wine bar in Utrecht Lefebvre. He deliberately chose Altea, because even in winter it is lively here. You sit here wonderfully on the boulevard and can walk all the way to Albir via the paved boulevard. Altea has three sections: the old center, La Vella & Hills. Actually, everything is beautiful. The port is a bit further away. But here you can rent a boat and explore the coast. On the beach towards La Vella you have a rock lala de’Olla. Here you can go to super and the lane is cordoned off. So you do not drift off.
I also go to acupuncture in Altea. Really knowledgeable man. But you will also find many massage parlors here.
Villajoyosa
Villajoyosa, is known for its colorful houses. It means the happy town. It is a truly authentic fishing village. Do you love the beach? Then this might be your place. Here you have a wide sandy beach with swaying palm trees. Along the Costa Blanca, after all, you have many beaches with pebbles. The village is also famous for its delicious chocolate. You can already smell it in the narrow streets.
Gata de Gorgos
Gata de Gorgos, known for its crafts, is a charming village that offers a perfect blend of traditional Spanish culture and modern amenities. This town is best known for its wicker and rattan products. Imagine walking through its streets and discovering beautiful handmade baskets and furniture. Most people buy home accessories here. In addition, the landscape around Gata de Gorgos is breathtaking, with green valleys and beautiful views of the mountains.

Pedreguer
Pedreguer is a typical Spanish village known for its traditional fiestas. It is a perfect place for those looking for an authentic Spanish lifestyle. The weekly market is a highlight, where you can buy local products and crafts. This is also a second-hand market. It really is a big market that winds all over the business park. In Pedreguer you will also find the Dutch supermarket for those people who really can’t live without licorice, peanut butter, beschuit and krentenbollen. In addition, Pedreguer offers great views of Montgó Mountain and the surrounding landscapes, making it a great place for nature lovers.
When we went to the notary we heard on the plane that people came to Pedreguer mainly because of the beautiful gardens and the ceramic stores along the road. The Jardín de L’Albarda is a beautiful garden. Concerts are also sometimes given here.
We bought our house quite spontaneously. If we had bought the house not only as an investment, but knew beforehand that we would stay there more ourselves, I think we would have chosen another place. But now that we are there a lot, this turns out to be the ideal place for us. Because of the altitude you have fantastic views. We are with 15 minutes in Denia, 14 minutes in Javea, 22 minutes in Moraira and 30 minutes in Altea. We live exactly between Valencia and Alicante and are quickly on the freeway. Just because you are just hanging over everything you are quick everywhere.
Jalon
Jalon, also known as Xaló, is famous for its vineyards and delicious wines. It is a paradise for wine lovers, with numerous bodegas where you can taste the local wines. The Jalon Valley is also a beautiful place to hike and enjoy nature. The village has a lively market on Saturdays, where you can find antiques and local products. This market is really cool. We found many beautiful products there. From oyster plates to an office chair. If you search well and arrive on time, you will find the greatest treasures here. This village is a bit cheaper. You have fantastic views and still get to the famous places quickly. For example, with 17 minutes you are already in Calpe
Lliber
Lliber is a picturesque village located in the Jalon Valley. It is a quiet and peaceful place, ideal for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Its charming streets and traditional Spanish houses give the village an authentic atmosphere. Lliber is surrounded by vineyards and almond trees, adding to its serene and picturesque setting. This village is a bit cheaper. Here you will find beautiful villas for acceptable amounts.
Teulada
Teulada is a historic town with a rich cultural heritage. The old center is dotted with charming streets and historic buildings. Teulada is close to the coast and offers easy access to the beautiful beaches of Moraira. It is an ideal place for those who want to enjoy both the tranquility of the interior and the liveliness of the coast. You are just a bit higher than Moraira and therefore not by the sea. Our notary is also here and you will find many furniture stores. The views are really top notch.
Gandia
Gandia combines the charm of a historic town with the vibrancy of a modern resort. The city has a beautiful historic center with impressive buildings such as the Ducal Palace of the Borgia. Gandia also offers beautiful beaches, where you can enjoy the sun and the sea. It is an ideal place for those looking for a mix of culture, history and beach fun.
