Moraira: Luxury villas and beautiful coves

Club Nautico in Moraira

Imagine this: You start your day with a cup of coffee at the harbor, then wander through the picturesque streets, take a dip in the turquoise waters of El Portet, and end the day with a good glass of wine as the sun slowly sets into the sea. Moraira is a place where you instantly feel at home, even if it’s your first visit. This charming coastal village on the Costa Blanca has it all: beautiful beaches, a relaxed atmosphere, and a rich history.

But what makes Moraira truly special? It’s not just a vacation destination; it’s a place where life feels just a little bit better.

The Old Town of Moraira

Authentic charm and history

The heart of Moraira lies in its atmospheric old town. Here, it feels as if time has stood still. Narrow streets with whitewashed houses, colorful flowers on the balconies, and little squares full of life. A place where you can easily spend an entire morning getting lost.

Highlights in the Old Town:

  • Castillo de Moraira: This 18th-century historic castle, which once served as a defense against pirates, stands proudly at Playa de l’Ampolla. Not only does it offer a fantastic view of the sea, but it’s also a piece of history.
  • Mercado de Moraira: Every Friday, the village comes to life with the weekly market. Here, you can buy everything from fresh vegetables and fruits to local cheeses, olive oil, and handmade goods. It’s a perfect place to taste the real Spain. Small tip: you can taste the olives, but you’ll get a lot of olives if you take too many. It can get quite expensive if you end up picking too many varieties, so be sure to specify the amount you want.
  • The Harbor: The charming fishermen’s harbor is still in use. Here, you can admire the colorful boats bringing fresh fish to shore. Finish your visit with a lunch at one of the restaurants by the water. We think Club Nautico is a top choice.

Living in the Old Town means enjoying authentic charm. Think of carefully renovated townhouses with traditional balconies and cozy courtyards. Perfect for those who embrace the tranquil Spanish way of life.

Beaches in Moraira

Moraira is blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Blanca. Whether you’re looking for a lively sandy beach or a hidden cove to go snorkeling, you’ll find it all here.

Popular beaches:

  • Playa del Portet: Without a doubt, this is the most iconic beach in Moraira. The calm, turquoise water and soft sand make it ideal for families and watersport enthusiasts. Here, you get Ibiza vibes, but without the crowds.
  • Playa de l’Ampolla: Located next to the center, this is the largest beach in Moraira. Perfect for a day of sunbathing, swimming, and building sandcastles. The promenade has plenty of bars for a refreshing drink.
  • Cala Andrago: A small, rocky cove with crystal-clear water. Ideal for snorkeling or simply enjoying the view. Tip: the Algas restaurant here has a fantastic terrace!

We are real watersport lovers. If you’re anchored here with your boat or moored to a buoy, a little boat comes by with cocktails and snacks. How cool is that?

Living near the beaches means living where others go on vacation. Whether you enjoy quiet mornings with a sea view or lively afternoons filled with watersports, it’s all possible here.

The natural beauty of Moraira

Moraira is surrounded by breathtaking nature. From hills covered in vineyards to rugged coastlines and hidden caves – nature lovers will feel right at home here.

Recommendations in and around Moraira:

  • Cap d’Or: Hike up to the historic watchtower at the top of this peninsula and be rewarded with panoramic views of the coastline. A perfect spot to watch the sunset.
  • Teulada Vineyards: The surrounding hills are dotted with vineyards where the famous Moscatel wine is produced. A visit to a winery is a must here. We’re fans of Montesanco, where they sell a Bobal that is among the top 1% of the best wines in the world.
  • Cova de les Cendres: A special cave that you can reach through an adventurous hike or kayak trip. The water here is so clear you can see the bottom.
