Dutch agents under the Spanish sun

Between us we have years of experience in the profession, in the Netherlands and in Spain, across both homes and investment property — and we put that together to help you buy yours.

Everything we do comes down to personal guidance, trust and results. We know that buying a house in Spain is a big step, and we are here to make the process simple, clear and even enjoyable. With local knowledge, creative strategy and a sharp eye for opportunity, we turn what you want into what you get.

Knowing when to act

Gé likes a clear picture — knowing where you stand and what the next step is. With a background at Rabobank and years in property, he looks hard at the numbers, the risks and the timing. He moves fast when he can feel everything lining up, and hits the brakes when a deal doesn't add up.

He has been coming to the region for twelve years, and it feels like home. The northern Costa Blanca is where his strengths pay off: the market is less transparent, and that is exactly where his network and his analysis make the difference. Gé knows who you need, knows his way around, and works with local partners he trusts.

Lindy often calls him an old wheeler-dealer. Once Gé sets his mind on something, he gets it done — he sorts things out, and always brings in the right people to get there.

With his API certification and a Dutch way of working, he guides purchases calmly and deliberately. Sometimes a step ahead — always in the buyer's interest.

Feeling when it is right

Lindy looks at more than a property's specification — the feeling has to be right. She knows that if a house keeps her awake all night, that is her house. View and quiet matter most. Call her flaky if you like, but the energy in a house has to be right.

A house can tick every box and still leave you unsettled. She takes that gut feeling seriously, because day to day it determines everything.

She started young in the profession and became the youngest registered agent and valuer in Utrecht. That Dutch grounding comes with her to the northern Costa Blanca. But her route to Spain is personal too: a nerve condition showed her how much the (micro)climate governs how she feels. The way of life, the climate and the opportunities make living here good. Here everything came together for her, and here she feels at home.

That experience goes into how she advises. She asks a lot of questions to understand what someone needs in order to feel well. Sometimes that means advising against. Sometimes it means showing you something you had not considered. Lindy sees potential where others walk past, and helps you understand what a property could become. She loves turning ugly ducklings into swans — not to talk you round, but so that together you do the right deals.

Buying your home — a Dutch buying agent on the Costa Blanca

We know how it works and who you need.

Buying a house in Spain is not only about the house. It is about regulation, permits, tax, timing and the right guidance. In a market less transparent than the one you are used to, a good network is what makes the difference.

Over the years we have built a strong local network of lawyers, notaries, builders, architects, mortgage advisers, tax specialists and agents — people we know, trust and work with daily. We don't use that network to sell. We use it to protect. It is there to make your purchase careful and trouble-free.

What makes Gusto Casa Spanje different?

There are a great many agents on the northern Costa Blanca. What sets Gusto Casa apart is the combination of expertise, a personal approach and creative strategy.

Local knowledge, Dutch ease

The Spanish property market is less transparent than you may be used to. It is a cowboy world, driven by quick money and deals. Title can be unclear, permits are sometimes missing, and hidden costs are common. As Dutch agents we understand what you expect: clarity, efficiency, reliability, and straight communication in your own language.

A large network, and access to hidden gems

Our network gives us access to properties that are not yet on the market. We also have a practical system that sends suitable homes your way, and lets us produce short valuation reports with recent transaction figures and historical data. Whether you are after an apartment in Jávea, a finca in Benissa or a villa in Altea Hills, we find both the pearls and the rough diamonds.

Transparency and trust

No hidden costs, no surprises. We keep the process completely transparent and guide you through all of it: from applying for an NIE number to handling the legal work and registering your property in the Spanish Land Registry. That work is placed with specialists. Our network is your network — we connect you to the right people.

Love story

Gé was working at Rabobank; Lindy had just gone out on her own. She lived literally round the corner from him. Gé was looking for an agent to sell and to buy. Lindy came over, and four months later — no joke — they were living together in a new house in Utrecht. Five years after that they bought a house together on the northern Costa Blanca. And now, seven years on? Their second house in Spain, a business here and a team in Utrecht.

A personal touch, unlike the rest

We don't believe the best property always falls inside your first set of filters. Sometimes the right house sits just out of frame. So we ask a lot of questions — about how you want to live, what you need in order to feel free, and what gives you energy. We take that gut feeling seriously.

That sometimes means showing you homes you would never have clicked on — and that is often exactly where the difference appears. Like the clients who thought they wanted to live in Jávea and found the perfect house in Pedreguer. With the right network they were able to rent, renovate and legalise all at once. What seemed unthinkable became their new home. Oh, and the International School bus? It stops right outside. This house even has all the nice-to-haves.

Moving fast when it counts

Some purchases call for calm. Some call for speed. Experience and preparation tell us which. We work the numbers through together, talk over the scenarios and know exactly where your limit sits — so we can act at the right moment, negotiate and secure the deal, often below the price you were prepared to pay. And yes: sometimes Gé is so fast and so decisive that the house is all but bought before you have finished arranging and checking everything.
